This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead the Finance Systems team in support of the Finance Controller’s Office.
• Manage the planning, prioritization, coaching, and performance development of analysts.
• Oversee the intake, triage, prioritization, enhancement backlog, and governance for Finance system requests.
• Establish governance for decisions regarding configuration, documentation standards, and change control.
• Ensure quality in configuration, system controls, posting rules, validations, approvals, and audit-readiness documentation.
• Act as product manager for the Workday systems roadmap, defining the scope, sequencing, and business value.
• Lead initiatives in requirements, development, testing, delivery, automation, process redesign, and system optimization.
• Foster alignment across Finance, Accounting, AP, Grants, Gifts, Business Assets, Projects, Payroll, Procurement, HR, Treasury, and IT.
• Present options, risks, standardization opportunities, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Coordinate the deployment and adoption of new features with IT and business partners.
• Direct Workday's semi-annual release planning, impact assessment, regression testing strategy, stakeholder communication, and readiness activities.
• Oversee Workday Financials and manage the implementation, upgrade, and lifecycle of other systems within the Finance Controller’s Office.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of hands-on experience with Workday Financials, including complex configuration, functional architecture, and cross-domain financial processes.
• Proven experience in leading Workday enhancements, functional design and redesign, solution architecture, and automation initiatives across Accounting, AP, Payroll, Procurement, and other Finance functions.
• Proficient in configuring Workday business processes, validations and condition rules, allocations, financial frameworks, and security groups.
• Experience in leading Workday release cycles, including impact analysis, regression testing strategy, stakeholder communication, and business readiness planning.
• Ability to develop advanced and composite reports, calculated fields, and analytics datasets.
• Experience in supporting or managing multiple finance systems in addition to Workday, including involvement in system implementations or upgrades.
• Familiarity with IT on Workday integrations, security, and technical escalations.
• Extensive expertise in Workday configuration leadership across business processes, validations, posting rules, approvals, and reporting logic.
• Strong comprehension of Workday core finance processes, including period close, procure to pay, payroll, and record to report.
• In-depth knowledge of Workday’s data model, including FDM, cost centers, spend categories, ledger structures, and accounting rules.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, stakeholder influence, prioritization, and multi-system oversight skills.
• Strong understanding of generative AI, cloud services programming, and databases.
