Finance Automation Solution Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• Assess the existing record-to-report processes in collaboration with controllers and finance operations leaders.

• Develop target automation strategies for period-end closing, reconciliations, journal entries, and intercompany transactions.

• Document the solution design to facilitate engineering implementation.

• Determine which standard capabilities of Redwood to leverage and identify areas where extensions are warranted.

• Create integration designs for SAP S/4HANA or ECC alongside other source systems.

• Establish rules for balance sheet auto-certification, including controls, approvals, and audit trails.

• Provide guidance to engineers throughout the build process and evaluate deliverables against the established design.

• Define testing strategies and acceptance criteria in collaboration with finance users.

• Develop a roadmap for future automation initiatives.

• Collaborate with finance process owners to comprehend existing processes and prioritize automation efforts.

• Assist in the design throughout the build, testing, and go-live phases, making decisions when implementation conditions deviate from the original design.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven ownership of solution design in at least one live Redwood Finance Automation (RunMyFinance) implementation, including conducting design workshops and drafting the design.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in finance transformation, finance systems, or record-to-report process design.

• Proficient understanding of SAP FI/CO or its Oracle equivalent.

• Knowledge of the data flow for closing and reconciliation between the ERP system and the automation layer.

• Experience facilitating workshops with finance users and translating their feedback into a constructible and testable design.

• Capability to engage with senior finance stakeholders and justify design choices.

• Proficiency in the English language.

• Consultants must be located in Italy.

• Preferred but not mandatory: hands-on experience with Redwood builds; experience with BlackLine, Trintech, or SAP Advanced Financial Closing; finance qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent; experience in financial services or other regulated industries, including SOX or similar audit controls.
