Finance Automation Solution Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the existing record-to-report processes in collaboration with controllers and finance operations leaders.

• Develop automation strategies for period-end closing, account reconciliations, journals, and intercompany transactions.

• Create documentation for the solution design to facilitate engineering implementation.

• Determine applicable standard capabilities of Redwood and identify areas where extensions are warranted.

• Design integrations with SAP S/4HANA or ECC along with other source systems.

• Establish rules, controls, approvals, and audit trails for balance sheet auto-certification.

• Support engineers throughout the building process and review deliverables to ensure alignment with the design.

• Outline the testing strategy and acceptance criteria in collaboration with finance users.

• Formulate a roadmap for future automation phases.

• Take ownership of the solution design from build through testing and go-live, making decisions when implementation realities diverge from the original design.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in solution design ownership for at least one active Redwood Finance Automation (RunMyFinance) implementation, which includes facilitating design workshops and drafting the design.

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in finance transformation, finance systems, or record-to-report process design.

• Proficient understanding of SAP FI/CO, or its Oracle counterpart.

• Knowledge of the data flow between the ERP and automation layer during the closing and reconciliation process.

• Proven experience in conducting workshops with finance users and converting requirements into a design that can be built and tested.

• Capability to engage with senior finance stakeholders and justify design choices.

• Consultants must be located in Germany.

• Proficiency in the English language.

• Beneficial but not mandatory: hands-on experience with Redwood builds.

• Beneficial but not mandatory: experience with BlackLine, Trintech, or SAP Advanced Financial Closing.

• Beneficial but not mandatory: finance qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or similar.

• Beneficial but not mandatory: experience in financial services or other regulated industries, including SOX or similar audit controls.
