Finance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Analyze performance and forecast variances to pinpoint causes and enhance forecasting accuracy.

• Create analyses illustrating business levers to optimize outcomes.

• Manage data inputs that contribute to regular financial performance reporting via dashboards, presentations, or ad hoc analyses.

• Validate the accuracy of finance dashboards.

• Ensure alignment of data definitions with financial reports and address inquiries such as P442 revenue.

• Conduct ad hoc analyses for the CFO, Head of FP&A, Financial Controller, and broader Finance team.

• Implement single-purpose agents to expedite and refine repeatable analyses.

• Transform findings into clear, decision-ready outputs.

• Engage hands-on with Excel, SQL, and single-purpose agents.

• Assist in delivering timely strategic finance performance updates.

• Serve as Finance’s daily liaison with the data team.

• Convert vague finance inquiries into precise data definitions, reference sources, and analysis plans.

• Reformat data outputs for Finance leaders and non-technical stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in investment banking, a modeling or data-analysis team at a Big Four firm, or a top-tier consultancy.

• Proficient Excel skills.

• Working knowledge of SQL.

• Capability to analyze data and identify performance drivers.

• Aptitude for structuring ambiguous finance questions into accurate analyses.

• Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in energy, fintech, or trading sectors is a plus.

• Familiarity with BI or dashboard tools is advantageous.

• Experience collaborating directly with a data team is preferred.

• Fluency in spoken, written, and reading English.
