Finance & Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the intermediary between our external bookkeepers and our internal financial model — addressing discrepancies, mapping accounts, and ensuring alignment between the structure of our books and our business model.

• Assist with various elements of our accounting and reporting processes, taking full ownership of the end-to-end process while collaborating with finance and business partners.

• Lead the execution of accounting tasks and projects, utilizing judgment to keep projects progressing and ensuring that appropriate decisions are made for closing the books each month.

• Aid in reorganizing our chart of accounts to ensure that reporting reflects our actual operations and forecasting.

• Gradually transition bookkeeping in-house, expanding responsibilities to include month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting.

• Manage daily finance administrative workflows, including AP/AR, invoicing, vendor management, expense management, and payroll coordination.

• Possess an understanding of internal control design concepts to effectively assess controls' efficiency and create new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities.

• Recognize opportunities for process improvement and automation to facilitate positive changes throughout the organization.

• Develop and maintain Excel models and reports that link actuals to forecasts.

• Provide support to leadership with variance analysis and ad hoc data analysis, raising any risks and issues to leadership as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.

• 2–4 years of accounting experience.

• Strong foundation in accounting principles (debits/credits, accruals, month-end close).

• Proficient Excel skills.

• Experience with BI tools is advantageous.

• Proven hands-on experience using AI tools for practical applications (not just conversational use, but integrating them into workflows).

• A strong sense of ownership; comfortable managing workflows from start to finish in a lean startup environment.

• Detail-oriented and capable of analyzing two conflicting sets of numbers to determine the reasons for discrepancies.
