Figma Design Specialist – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the migration of a Figma design system between enterprise environments, ensuring the accurate transfer of libraries, components, and token structures.

• Conduct an audit of Figma files to identify and map dependencies among libraries, components, templates, patterns, and tokens.

• Execute an initial proof of concept in a sandbox environment to evaluate the migration strategy, assess risks, and estimate the required effort.

• Revise foundational libraries as necessary while ensuring consistency in naming conventions and maintaining the integrity of downstream files.

• Leverage Figma library workflows to re-establish connections between migrated files and shared assets on a large scale.

• Address migration challenges such as broken token references, component mismatches, and publishing issues.

• Confirm that tokens, styles, and component relationships function correctly following migration.

• Collaborate with design, engineering, and platform stakeholders to plan the sequence of work and minimize disruptions.

• Document essential decisions, modifications, and known issues for a smooth transition to the internal team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in product design, design systems, or a similar field, with a strong technical background in Figma.

• Proven experience in managing shared libraries, component systems, and token-based design frameworks within Figma.

• Demonstrated capability to lead or assist in complex Figma migrations, restructures, or cleanup initiatives.

• Experience in identifying technical risks and proposing effective solutions.

• A portfolio is required, showcasing examples of design systems and technical work in Figma.

• Familiarity with Token Studio, Figma enterprise environments, or GitHub-based token workflows is preferred.

• A degree is not mandatory if the candidate has substantial experience.

• Must be able to work remotely within U.S. time zones for a duration of 3–4 months.
