Field Technician D

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical assistance for FAA programs and systems, including FTI, MS, ADS-B, DCNS, WMSS, and others.

• Install, repair, configure, test, and conduct preventative maintenance on equipment at customer remote locations.

• Operate remotely in both scheduled and on-call capacities at customer sites within the designated area.

• Occasionally travel to remote locations outside the assigned area to meet FAA customer requirements.

• Collaborate directly with the NOCC, SAC, and Helpdesk via phone to address field issues.

• Maintain tools, test equipment, parts/electronics, truck stock inventory, and personal or company vehicles.

• Prepare in advance for assigned tasks prior to dispatch.

• Be available for work outside regular hours on call when necessary.

• Coordinate with the supervisor/ASL to adhere to L3Harris and program-specific policies and procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or 2 years of post-secondary/Associates Degree with at least 4 years of related experience.

• Valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.

• Capability to obtain a FAA Public Trust or a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

• Proficient in reading, understanding, and following equipment drawings and task orders.

• Strong administrative skills for effective note-taking and documentation.

• Ability to lift items weighing up to 32 lbs. and utilize ladders and step stools to reach heights of approximately 10 ft.

• Certifications such as Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, or A+ are preferred.

• Knowledge of cable connectors, including RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, and RS-449 is preferred.

• Familiarity with fiber, multiplexers, network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET, ATM, Private Line, and voice/data applications is preferred.

• Understanding of AC/DC power testing, including 3 Phase AC, is preferred.

• Awareness of 24V DC and 48V DC power supplies is preferred.

• Experience with T1, DS3, BERT, and Analog VG testing according to Bell Core Standards is preferred.

• Proficiency in using network test equipment such as JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, Digital Oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, and Para-scope is preferred.

• Knowledge of IP-based router and switch configuration is preferred.

• Experience in installing equipment racks is preferred.
