Field Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical support to address network performance challenges and aid in outage resolution.

• Oversee smaller projects or segments of larger projects, providing precise status and progress reports.

• Suggest and advocate for improvements in maintenance and repair processes to senior personnel and management.

• Collaborate with senior technicians in creating job aids, scopes of work, and procedural documentation.

• Complete necessary training to stay updated on systems, products, and organizational standards.

• Enhance and maintain network performance and reliability.

• Provide support for radio access networks, backhaul, signaling, disaster recovery, data services, and location-based services.

• Execute additional tasks and projects as assigned by business management.

• Cover a broad geographic area in a rural market to the west and southwest of Oklahoma City.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or a combination of education and experience considered equivalent (Required).

• Preferred areas of study include Vocational/Technical Training or a related field.

• 2-4 years of experience in Field Operations and maintenance.

• 2-4 years of experience in wireless telecommunications or a related field.

• Fundamental operational knowledge of electronics and interconnecting circuits, including RF transmitters, antenna systems, AAV, fiber, microwave radio, AC-DC power systems, and AI.

• Practical understanding of Radio Access Network (RAN) architecture, components, and operations.

• Familiarity with wireless backhaul technologies and configurations, including both microwave and fiber-based solutions.

• Knowledge of licensed microwave and millimeter-wave wireless transport technology; experience with Ceragon and Ericsson is advantageous.

• Proven experience with or the capacity to learn RAN equipment and 5G NR standards.

• Proficient understanding of base station equipment, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.

• Commitment to ongoing training, certifications, and practical skill development.

• Awareness of disaster recovery protocols and contingency plans.

• Capability to systematically identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues across both hardware and software systems.

• Proficient in planning, coordinating, and completing field assignments while managing time, resources, and priorities.

• Capacity to provide hands-on technical assistance and field-level support.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and similar productivity applications.

• Understanding of Internet Protocol, with a willingness to utilize AI-driven tools for network solutions.

• Ability to operate fiber test, line, and antenna test equipment (Preferred).

• Strong verbal and written communication skills (Preferred).

• Self-motivated and demonstrates initiative (Preferred).

• Basic leadership capabilities along with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks (Preferred).

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting (Preferred).

• Adaptability to changing environments and priorities (Preferred).

• Availability for flexible working hours, including day and night shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations (Required).

• Physical ability to lift 50-70 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions (Required).

• Must be at least 21 years old to operate a company-assigned vehicle.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Travel within the market is necessary.
