Field Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical assistance to address network performance challenges and aid in resolution of outages.

• Oversee smaller projects or segments of larger projects, providing precise status and progress reports.

• Identify and suggest enhancements for maintenance and repair processes to senior management and staff.

• Collaborate with senior technicians to create job aids, scopes of work, and procedural documentation.

• Complete necessary training to stay updated on systems, products, and organizational standards.

• Continuously enhance skills through training and practical experience with both existing and new systems and products.

• Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned.

• Support network operations in the Denver area, focusing on Aurora, Colorado.

• Utilize technical expertise to maintain and enhance network performance and reliability.

• Assist with radio access networks, backhaul, signaling, disaster recovery, data services, and location-based services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree OR a combination of education and experience considered equivalent (Required).

• Preferred fields of study include Vocational/Technical Training or related disciplines.

• 2-4 years of experience in Field Operations and maintenance.

• 2-4 years of experience in wireless telecommunications or related fields.

• Fundamental operational knowledge of electronics and interconnecting circuits, including RF transmitters, antenna systems, AAV, fiber, microwave radio, AC-DC power systems, and AI.

• Practical understanding of Radio Access Network (RAN) architecture, components, and operations (Required).

• Knowledge of wireless backhaul technologies and configurations, specifically microwave and fiber-based solutions (Required).

• Experience with or the capacity to learn RAN equipment and 5G NR standards (Required).

• Proficient in base station equipment, installation, configuration, and maintenance (Required).

• Commitment to ongoing training, certifications, and hands-on development (Required).

• Familiarity with disaster recovery protocols and contingency plans (Required).

• Capability to diagnose and address network issues across hardware and software systems (Required).

• Competence to plan, coordinate, and efficiently complete field assignments (Required).

• Ability to provide practical technical assistance and field-level support (Required).

• Strong attention to detail (Required).

• Proficient in problem-solving and troubleshooting (Required).

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and similar productivity applications; understanding of Internet Protocol, with a willingness to utilize AI-driven tools (Required).

• Ability to operate fiber test, line, and antenna test equipment (Preferred).

• Availability for flexible hours, including day and night shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation (Required).

• Capacity to lift 50-70 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions (Required).

• Must be at least 21 years old to drive a company-assigned vehicle.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Travel is required.

• This is a DOT-regulated position.
