Field Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Configure, sustain, and manage various factory subsystems, including the Manufacturing Execution System, programmable logic controllers, network infrastructure, and both software and hardware systems.

• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to guarantee that all systems operate efficiently and effectively.

• Serve as the on-site technical lead to troubleshoot and resolve any system issues that may arise.

• Address Tier 1 issues and escalate more complex problems to Tier 2 support engineers.

• Work in close partnership with the on-site maintenance technician responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment.

• Deliver training and support to various users within the operations team.

• Partner with other engineers to design and implement new systems and upgrades.

• Document procedures related to system design, installation, and maintenance.

• Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in the industry.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial/utility field operations, system administration, network administration, or a related discipline.

• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing execution systems, programmable logic controllers, network management and configuration, along with associated hardware/software systems.

• Proven ability to isolate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in networked hardware and software systems.

• Strong analytical capabilities and adept problem-solving skills.

• Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical personnel.

• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
