This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough evaluations of technical operations, implementing sophisticated corrective measures to ensure optimal equipment quality and performance.

• Independently install, maintain, and repair intricate broadcast equipment such as audio processors, transmission systems, EAS equipment, receivers, monitors, and electrical systems, while optimizing signal and sound in accordance with Ministry guidelines.

• Skillfully operate equipment to manage and enhance signal strength, clarity, and sound quality.

• Proactively identify and resolve complex technical issues on equipment and systems down to the component level using advanced, systematic approaches.

• Act as a knowledgeable collaborator with contract engineers, providing expert insights, evaluating their work, and coordinating projects effectively.

• Lead teamwork initiatives with internal staff to rapidly address intricate technical issues.

• Diligently complete and submit all necessary administrative documentation, including timecards, expense reports, vehicle logs, budgeting documents, and other relevant records by specified deadlines.

• Utilize and maintain designated asset management, work order, and ticketing system software to log activities, track inventory, and update statuses efficiently.

• Respond quickly and professionally to emails, texts, and phone calls, ensuring clear and timely communication regarding operational status, project updates, and other work-related matters.

• Keep organized digital and physical records as required for compliance and operational continuity.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of FCC rules and regulations, ensuring all equipment and operations comply with or exceed legal and safety standards.

• Actively support and uphold K-LOVE's Injury Prevention and Safety program.

• Conduct mandatory, in-depth on-site visits to each assigned transmitter site at least once per quarter.

• Provide rapid response and expert solutions for unexpected outages, emergency repairs, and critical events necessitating on-site presence.

• Perform essential maintenance on non-broadcast equipment (e.g., electrical generators, HVAC, minor electrical/plumbing) to ensure overall site functionality.

• Make necessary trips to sites for installations or repairs, or to the K-LOVE Campus for training or specialized projects.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical training in electronics, broadcast communications, or a related field; OR a minimum of three years of directly relevant experience; OR a combination of education and experience that is equivalent.

• SBE Certification is highly desirable.

• At least 4+ years of proven experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex broadcast electronic equipment or comparable relevant experience.

• Comprehensive understanding of broadcast air-chain components and IP-based signal distribution.

• Intermediate networking skills (TCP/IP, routing, switching) with the ability to diagnose common network issues.

• Intermediate knowledge of modern microwave and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technologies.

• Extensive understanding of radio frequency (RF) emissions.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting electronic schematics, electrical drawings, and construction blueprints.

• Capable of performing accurate calculations for common broadcast-related formulas.

• Expertise in soldering and desoldering electronic components.

• In-depth knowledge of applicable broadcast-related FCC rules and regulations.

• Proficient with standard broadcast test equipment (VOMs, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers).

• Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite and other common software applications.

• Proven ability to systematically and logically solve multiple complex technical problems.

• Ability to apply common-sense reasoning to execute instructions and think logically from problem identification to solution.

• Communicates effectively with grace, respect, and humility; listens attentively and receives feedback positively.

• Demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning, taking personal responsibility for ongoing professional development.

• Maintains current and comprehensive knowledge of technical processes and equipment, leveraging advanced technology to significantly enhance performance.
