This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Pre-Sales Leadership: Take full ownership of the end-to-end Sales Engineering (SE) strategy for customer interactions within the UKI enterprise segment, which includes designing meeting agendas, crafting story arcs, developing technical approaches, and ensuring follow-through.
• Product Demonstrations & Webinars: Execute engaging online and in-person product demonstrations and webinars, customizing messaging and content to align with the customer's particular business challenges and technical landscape.
• Technical Discovery & Solution Design: Facilitate in-depth discovery sessions with customers to gain insights into their business needs, technical specifications, and pain points. Evaluate the customer’s existing infrastructure and propose solutions that enhance performance, scalability, and operational efficiency, while defining project scope, success metrics, and timelines.
• Value Articulation: Effectively communicate the value proposition of SolarWinds solutions in relation to the customer's distinct requirements, utilizing consultative and value-based sales techniques.
• Technical Advisory: Provide expert technical guidance to Inside and Outside Sales teams during all pre-sales activities, advising Account Executives and Channel Partners on the best solutions to meet customer needs.
• Complex POC Execution: Develop and implement intricate Proof of Concept (POC) and Proof of Value (POV) projects, encompassing multi-product scenarios, integrations, and scaled environments. Proactively identify and mitigate technical and organizational risks throughout the evaluation phase.
• Product Configuration & Troubleshooting: Deliver advanced pre-sales technical support, including product configuration, environment setup, and resolution of customer issues during evaluation periods.
• Customer & Product Feedback: Relay structured customer insights, such as feature requests, competitive information, and product concerns, to Product Management and Development teams. Assist in shaping internal best practices based on field experiences.
• Continuous Learning & Enablement: Keep current and enhance technical knowledge of the SolarWinds product lineup. Offer training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to fellow team members, and conduct Sales/Partner enablement sessions as needed.
• Events & Field Presence: Represent the company at partner events, trade shows, and industry conferences. Travel to partner locations for training and enablement. Maintain a significant on-site presence with key customers throughout the UKI region.
• Post-Sale Support: Engage with customers during the project lifecycle and provide handover assistance to Customer Success and Renewals teams once solutions are implemented, ensuring a smooth transition and continued customer satisfaction.
• Over 4 years of experience in technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, solutions architecture, or technology consulting roles (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
• More than 3 years in a dedicated pre-sales or solutions engineering role, preferably within a software vendor or systems integrator setting.
• A strong combination of technical expertise, sales skills, and outstanding customer interaction abilities, comfortable leading discussions with executives as well as conducting in-depth technical workshops.
• Fluent in English with exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills. The capability to simplify complex technical subjects into clear, persuasive narratives is essential.
• Significant hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Observability (network, application, infrastructure monitoring)
• IT Service Management (ITSM)
• Database Management & Performance
• Proven experience with cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS). Familiarity with hybrid cloud architectures and modern infrastructure is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, reasoning, and technical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to navigate complex customer environments.
• Self-motivated individual with a curious mindset, capable of quickly learning complex software applications and independently managing a portfolio of pre-sales activities.
• Proven ability to mentor and guide junior team members informally (e.g., reviewing presentations, shadowing calls, sharing best practices).
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Computing, or Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
