Field Service Technician – Mining Equipment

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Safely and efficiently diagnose and repair a variety of Caterpillar mining shovels and earthmoving machinery within designated timeframes.

• Uphold high-quality standards while fostering positive relationships with customers.

• Engage in safe, environmentally responsible, and healthy work practices consistently, in alignment with Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs, and initiatives.

• Utilize Caterpillar diagnostic tools to identify mechanical issues.

• Repair and/or assemble associated or competitive Caterpillar earthmoving machinery as needed.

• Collaborate with customers on 993 loaders and 6020 & 6030 diesel shovels.

• Accurately prepare service reports and documentation in a timely manner.

• Act as a cohesive member of the onsite mechanical team.

• Maintain strong customer relations.

• Adhere to company and customer health and safety policies and procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of post-secondary education in heavy equipment mechanics or heavy engine mechanics.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a technician in the repair and service of heavy construction and/or mining equipment.

• Familiarity with Cat Mining equipment models 777-785.

• Experience with mining shovels 6020 - 6030 is considered a valuable asset.

• Must possess a Provincial Red Seal license in heavy duty/heavy equipment mechanics.
