This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Address daily service repair demands to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment in the field.
• Facilitate customer training as necessary.
• Record inspections, maintenance, and repair activities, ensuring timely submission of paperwork.
• Manage the ordering, installation, and return of parts while overseeing the repair-parts cycle time.
• Examine logs for unresolved issues and generate formal reports for customers.
• Engage in service-sales opportunities and assist with revenue initiatives.
• Maintain and calibrate tools and testing equipment.
• Evaluate equipment performance utilizing field-support data and suggest enhancements.
• Provide technical assistance to customers and fellow service professionals.
• Take part in site surveys, pilot program service activities, and meetings.
• Maintain professional communication with customers and team members.
• Cultivate relationships with senior Field Service Engineers and Product Managers.
• Manage and minimize operational costs.
• Adhere to company policies regarding health, safety, environmental standards, export control, and security.
• Offer supervision on a project basis when necessary.
• Travel daily to customer sites within the Chicago Metro area, including ORD airport.
• Associate’s Degree, relevant trade certification in electrical, electronic, or mechanical fields, or military training in electrical, mechanical, or electronics.
• Equivalent experience of 1–3 years in related electrical or mechanical field service work is acceptable.
• At least 1–3 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems and equipment in the field.
• Proficiency in computer skills and familiarity with all applications in the MS Office Suite.
• Ability to learn specialized software programs effectively.
• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and customer service abilities.
• A solid customer focus and a team-oriented mindset.
• Quick responsiveness to customer concerns at all times.
• Readiness and capacity to travel on short notice.
• Basic technical understanding of Trace and X-Ray technologies.
• Must successfully complete a federal background investigation if required.
• May need Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access and TSA vetting.
• May require a U.S. Personal Security Clearance.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
• Capability to push or pull up to 200 lbs.
• Must be able to move or manipulate equipment weighing up to 1,000 lbs with assistance from designated devices.
• Competence to work safely in extreme environments around hazardous industrial equipment.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday, with potential travel, overtime, and other work hours as needed.
