Field Service Technician I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Conduct testing, maintenance, and repair of low- and medium-voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control, and various electrical equipment both in the shop and in the field.

• Execute Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and timing tests on low- and medium-voltage breakers.

• Carry out mechanical work and repairs on breakers and switches, which includes teardown, refurbishment, and parts replacement.

• Wire circuit breakers.

• Utilize and accurately interpret test equipment.

• Read schematics and wiring diagrams.

• Troubleshoot circuit breaker controls.

• Read and plot time-current curves.

• Test transformers, including Power Factor and TTR.

• Accurately and consistently document findings using Power DB.

• Operate electrical tools and socket sets.

• Travel approximately 50% of the time, including overnight stays.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma.

• 1-5 years of relevant experience in commercial and industrial maintenance.

• A minimum of 2 years in industrial or commercial power systems testing.

• NETA 2, 3, or 4 certification is preferred.

• Capability to reference and fulfill assignments as outlined in relevant specifications.

• Ability to conduct regular fieldwork in both indoor and outdoor settings.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with business acumen and management capability.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

• Possession of a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

• Effective communication skills in English, including proficiency in reading and writing.

• An Associate’s degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC) is preferred.

• An Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited institution is preferred.

• Relevant experience and training from the military, such as Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or Navy Seabee, is preferred.
