
Field Service Technician, HVAC – Data Center

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Travel to customer locations to initiate, commission, safely troubleshoot, and repair Munters Data Center equipment.
• Conduct factory start-up, commissioning, warranty work, and billable service for Munters Data Center systems and equipment.
• Safeguard and maintain Munters equipment and property.
• Respond promptly to service requests from both customers and management.
• Deliver training to customers regarding Munters equipment.
• Offer technical insights through detailed field service reports.
• Coordinate with other trades and services while present onsite for start-up commissioning.
• Provide immediate-response customer service as a member of the Field Service team.
• Over 5 years of experience and comprehensive knowledge in the mechanical field, particularly HVAC.
• Willingness to travel up to 90% across the USA via plane and car.
• In-depth understanding of electrical troubleshooting with the ability to diagnose electrical problems and document data.
• Training in arc flash, lockout/tagout, and other safety protocols.
• Familiarity with and usage of PPE related to electrical safety.
• Extensive knowledge of refrigeration systems.
• Capability to conduct pressure tests, evacuate, and independently charge systems.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing refrigeration issues.
• Skilled in brazing and soldering techniques.
• Possession of a universal refrigeration certification.
• Comprehensive knowledge of control systems, including troubleshooting, programming, or downloading to such systems.
• Understanding of PLCs with the ability to operate across various platforms.
• Competence in accessing PLC information, modifying PLCs, and connecting to computers for communication and adjustments.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Self-driven and capable of working independently.
• Skilled in communicating with site personnel, Sales PM, Service Manager, and Technical Support teams.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently or consistently.
• Capability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, and lift.
• Close visual acuity for data analysis, computer terminals, and extensive reading tasks.
• Must adhere to mandatory PPE requirements, including safety glasses, safety boots, hard hats, and hearing protection.
• Willingness to be away from home for several days at a time.
• Openness to on-call responsibilities.
• Readiness to occasionally work on weekends and/or holidays.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Capability and willingness to work at heights of six feet or more.
