Field Service Technician – Bulk Elemental Analysis

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Deliver top-notch technical support, installation, maintenance, and repair services for the BEA product portfolio.

• Travel to customer locations within heavy industrial settings to ensure optimal instrument uptime and client satisfaction.

• Install, calibrate, and validate intricate analytical instruments at customer facilities.

• Execute planned preventative maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, and optical malfunctions.

• Provide technical training for customer laboratory personnel and operators.

• Keep precise service documentation and manage parts inventory effectively.

• Follow all safety protocols diligently.

⛳️ Requirements

• Certified Instrumentation Technician with a National Diploma in Process Control & Instrumentation, Trade Test, or a comparable recognized technical qualification.

• At least 3-5 years of practical field service experience in servicing analytical laboratory instrumentation.

• Demonstrated technical proficiency and hands-on experience in troubleshooting and maintaining XRF, OES, and XRD instruments.

• Extensive operational understanding of the specific environments, safety regulations, and workflows within the cement, steel, and mining sectors.

• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.

• Strong aptitude in electrical, electronic, and mechanical aspects of analytical instrumentation.

• Expertise in diagnostic software and computerized analytical tools.

• Self-motivated with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Capability to maintain precise parts inventory and manage company resources effectively.
