Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• This is a hands-on, field-based position focused on repairing our parcel lockers at client locations, which includes tasks such as break-fix, maintenance, software configuration, quality control, and offering technical support and training to both employees and subcontractors.

• Engaged in the creation of new solutions and the upkeep of technical documentation.

• Responsible for diagnosing and fixing faults and malfunctions in parcel locker machines (APMs) on-site, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal functionality.

• Overseeing maintenance and modernization of parcel locker machines, which includes implementing hardware and software upgrades to improve reliability and efficiency.

• Conducting diagnostics, reconfiguration, and installation of computer software or firmware for computer, electronic, and electromechanical equipment, ensuring compatibility and adherence to security standards.

• Processing and reporting repairs assigned to you using the communication methods employed within the organization.

• Managing tools and components related to parcel locker machines.

• Handling systems related to personnel management.

• Ensuring quality control of work performed by internal employees and subcontractors, making sure it complies with technical standards, contractual obligations, and company policies.

• Offering technical and substantive support to employees and subcontractors (including those based internationally) through the company’s communication and IT channels.

• Contributing to the development of solutions for new models of parcel locker machines.

• Preparing and revising technical manuals and documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant experience in a field service technical engineering role involving electrical and mechanical equipment.

• Proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment (such as multi-meters).

• Skilled in diagnosing and repairing equipment, with experience in software configuration and firmware updates.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for addressing complex technical challenges.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, capable of delivering technical training.

• Capacity to manage tasks effectively, ensuring quality and deadlines are met across various markets.

• High accuracy in quality control and documentation maintenance.

• Experience collaborating with diverse teams, including international subcontractors and internal personnel.

• Willingness to travel for service and training activities both within the UK and occasionally abroad.

• Familiarity with parcel lockers or similar systems, electromechanical devices, and organizational IT tools.

• Effective time management skills and the ability to responsibly handle tools and components.
