Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Install and maintain injection molding machinery at client locations

• Diagnose and repair injection molding machines and robotic systems

• Perform tests and inspections on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and software components

• Execute calibrations to enhance equipment efficiency

• Carry out software and hardware installations

• Conduct safety inspections on equipment

• Train customers on equipment usage and proper operational procedures

• Address customer concerns, including the ordering and installation of replacement parts

• Identify control system issues and devise systematic repair strategies

• Guide Service Technicians and customer operators on the maintenance and safe use of injection molding systems

• Liaise with Central Service, Manufacturing, and Parts Center to address field-related issues

• Provide regular written updates to the Service Manager

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma is mandatory

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in injection molding troubleshooting or processing, or prior experience as a Field Service Injection Molding Technician/Service Engineer

• Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics for troubleshooting electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems

• Experience with injection molding machines and their electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and computer systems

• Capability to provide basic training to customers and staff

• Strong understanding of the injection molding process

• Ability to systematically troubleshoot issues

• Knowledge of microprocessor programming

• Familiarity with materials such as PET, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Styrene, and other common substances

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service

• Skill in handling challenging or dissatisfied customers with tact and diplomacy

• Committed team player with a positive demeanor

• Preference for familiarity with ENGEL machines and robots

• Ability to utilize internal resources effectively to resolve customer challenges

• Capability to work independently with minimal back-office assistance

• Valid passport is required

• A driver's license in good standing, including REAL-ID, is required
