Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Execute remote work at customer locations by installing and servicing equipment while delivering training and support to clients.

• Diagnose and repair injection molding machines and robots, performing tests and inspections on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic or software components.

• Carry out software and hardware installations.

• Conduct all necessary safety checks on equipment.

• Provide education to customers on equipment usage and instruction on proper operation.

• Oversee the resolution of customer issues, including the ordering and installation of replacement parts as needed.

• Develop a systematic approach to troubleshooting machine problems and replacing or repairing parts as required.

• Train other Service Technicians and/or customer operators on the maintenance and safe operation of injection molding systems.

• Liaise with Central Service/Manufacturing/Parts Center to resolve issues encountered in the field.

• Regularly supply written reports to the Service Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma is required.

• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.

• 5+ years of experience in Injection Molding troubleshooting or processing, or prior experience as a Field Service Injection Molding Technician/Service Engineer.

• Familiarity with blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

• Experience working with injection molding machines.

• A well-rounded skill set in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and computer systems.

• Capability to provide basic training to customers and employees.

• Knowledge and understanding of the injection molding process.

• Ability to systematically troubleshoot problems.

• Understanding of microprocessor programming.

• Knowledgeable about materials such as PET, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Styrene, and other commonly used materials.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus.

• Tact and diplomacy are essential.

• A dedicated team player with a positive attitude.

• Familiarity with ENGEL machines and robots is advantageous.

• Must possess a valid Passport.

• A driver's license in good standing that includes REAL-ID is required.
