Field Service Representative II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Operates and provides instruction on Unmanned Air Systems (UAS), Tactical Missile Systems (TMS), and Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV) in the field.

• Engages in AeroVironment’s Master Trainer Training Program (MTTP) as outlined in the Master Trainer Training Manual (MTTM).

• Ensures all field operations of systems adhere to established protocols and are conducted safely.

• Conducts all required inventories of UAS, TMS, and UGV equipment and materials.

• Promptly informs Master Commanders (MCs), customer representatives, and controlling authorities of any changes impacting planned training field operations.

• Maintains the operational readiness of UAS/TMS/UGVs and their supporting systems.

• Keeps situational awareness of the vehicle's location, in-flight status, and potential threats from both air and ground.

• Continuously monitors both on-site and along intended flight paths.

• Regularly reassesses risk levels and takes necessary actions to mitigate any identified risks.

• Completes all required documentation for field operations, equipment status, data collection, and post-flight procedures.

• Gathers critical information for incorporation into after-action reports and lessons learned databases.

• Applies company policies and procedures to address complex issues.

• Works on intricate issues where analysis of situations or data necessitates an in-depth evaluation of variable factors; makes judgments on methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve results.

• Undertakes the responsibilities of Site Lead/Mission Commander (MC).

• As necessary, conducts both formal and informal feedback sessions with assigned personnel.

• Develops and validates training support packages.

• Ensures instructor/operator currency requirements are fulfilled and proficiency is maintained per the Master Trainer Training Program (MTTP).

• Directly coordinates with AeroVironment (AV) departments regarding system and manual currency, updates, and modifications.

• Ensures that all flight and ground operations comply with established procedures.

• Supports Business Development and Sales Team initiatives: Conducts CONUS/OCONUS flight and ground demonstrations.

• Performs CONUS/OCONUS customer service visits.

• Assists with Field Operations training.

• Supports FSR deployments (TMS).

• Captures essential information for inclusion in after-action reports and lessons learned databases.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent; a bachelor’s degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Over 8 years of relevant experience.

• At least 3 years of experience as a Field Operations Instructor.

• Prior military experience or equivalent training experience within an aircraft/aerospace manufacturing environment.

• Military instructor/Special Operations experience is highly desirable.

• Preference for backgrounds in Special Forces, SEAL, Special Tactics, Ranger, Force Recon/MARSOC, Scout, Forward Observer, TACP, or Aviation.

• Willingness to travel frequently and for extended periods within the continental United States (CONUS).

• Willingness to travel regularly and for extended durations outside the continental United States (OCONUS).

• Proven leadership skills.

• Strong understanding of military tactics, operations, GPS, and navigation using maps and compasses.

• Exceptional analytical skills for solving a range of complex problems.

• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and exercise independent judgment consistently.

• Ability to interpret various forms of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, blueprint, or sketch formats.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and other productivity tools.
