Field Service Engineer/Technician, Bilingual in Mandarin

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary contact for customers, offering direct support for laser machines via phone, email, chat, and in-person visits.

• Aid personnel and clients in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues with laser machines and take necessary steps to resolve customer concerns.

• Monitor technical problems and incoming inquiries from customers.

• Oversee scheduling and follow-ups with customers in the designated territory to ensure optimal utilization of the lasers.

• Conduct mechanical repairs on laser machines at the customer's site, determining the need for special resources or parts for repairs.

• Interpret layout drawings and blueprints for equipment installation.

• Create and maintain a list of (replacement) parts, ensuring stock availability through effective communication with customers, staff, vendors, and manufacturers.

• Recognize safety issues related to the machines.

• Deliver training sessions to customers.

• Draft and prepare service reports and expense reports.

• Conduct failure mode analyses and provide recommendations for upgrades.

• Support the final integration and commissioning of complex automation projects as necessary.

• Assist with heavy mechanical moves, such as loading and unloading equipment onto trucks when required.

• Engage in regular travel within assigned territories. Additional duties may be assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in mechatronics, automation engineering, or electrical engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience with 2+ years in automated CNC machines.

• Recent experience in installing, repairing, and diagnosing issues in automated CNC machines.

• 3+ years of relevant experience with automated CNC machines or fiber laser machines.

• Familiarity with engineering software, including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and utilize testing equipment.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Proven technical writing abilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and remote communication tools.

• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.

• Bilingual in Mandarin, with reading and speaking proficiency, is an advantage.

• Preference for candidates residing in the MN Area.

• Willingness to travel as needed (locally and domestically).
