This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +2 more states.
• Conduct customer installations, upgrades, updates, repairs, and preventative maintenance on various instruments within the designated territory.
• Engage with customers in a professional manner to troubleshoot technical issues and enhance their operational efficiency.
• Drive customer satisfaction and meet annual customer satisfaction goals.
• Reach specified revenue goals while addressing customer requirements.
• Propose and finalize sales of service contracts and additional service offerings.
• Serve as a trusted advisor by providing qualification and validation service offerings at client locations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address customer concerns and enhance processes.
• Complete submissions for Remote Service Dispatch, Escalation, Field Problem Report, and Field Service Report.
• Oversee spare parts ordering, utilization, returns, physical inventory counts, and vehicle stock management.
• Maintain technical proficiency through training, team meetings, and staying updated on products, markets, customers, and competitors.
• Manage travel expenditures and adhere to Thermo Fisher Scientific travel policies and guidelines.
• Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, or Engineering is required.
• Experience in a related scientific, biomedical engineering, and/or customer-facing role is essential.
• Proficient in effective questioning techniques to ascertain customer needs.
• Ability to exercise judgment in setting work priorities and determining subsequent actions.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Positively influence team dynamics.
• Quick adaptability to changes, offering positive and constructive feedback.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Preferred: experience in clinical, diagnostic, and/or regulated environments such as CAP, CLIA, ISO, or GMP.
• Preferred: aptitude for learning and understanding IT systems and processes.
• Preferred: experience with DNA Sequencing, NGS, Real-Time PCR, Cellular Imaging, and/or molecular techniques.
• Preferred: experience with automation and robotic systems.
• Willingness to travel frequently to customer locations, comprising 25–75% of work time.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods while fulfilling duties.
• Must work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials.
• Flexibility to work overtime and adjust schedules, including weekend travel.
• Position allows for remote work.
