
Field Service Engineer – Chromatography

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of designated products and systems.
• Conducting instrument qualifications in line with relevant procedures and customer specifications.
• Strategically planning and executing service calls to enhance technical quality, organization, and operational efficiency.
• Recording all service activities and managing escalations in accordance with current Thermo Fisher Scientific policies and processes.
• Offering technical and application support to customers to guarantee optimal instrument performance.
• Proactively identifying and advocating for our service offerings, including service contracts, qualifications, and system upgrades during service visits and customer meetings.
• Collaborating closely with Technical Support teams and manufacturing sites to swiftly address technical issues.
• Overseeing service inventory and maintaining tools and calibration equipment.
• Assisting at trade shows, exhibitions, and customer events.
• Working in close partnership with Technical Team Leaders to ensure efficient service delivery and high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Completed technical vocational training or a degree in electronics, medical technology, natural sciences, engineering, or a similar technical field.
• Ideally, experience in servicing technical, analytical, laboratory, or medical devices.
• Passion for analytical systems and a readiness to continuously learn new technologies and products.
• Experience in direct customer-facing field service is advantageous.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience in systematic fault diagnosis/troubleshooting.
• Organized and structured work approach with the capacity to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
• High customer orientation coupled with a professional demeanor and excellent communication skills.
• Solid knowledge of computer hardware and software.
• Very good communication skills within a matrix organization.
• Proficiency in German at a minimum B2 level and English at a minimum B1 level, both spoken and written.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel extensively within Germany and, if necessary, across the EMEA region and worldwide for training purposes.
