This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Execute installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of computer-controlled servo-hydraulic and electro-mechanical testing systems.
• Identify problems in controllers, hydraulics, data acquisition systems, sensors, transducers, fixtures, and grips.
• Resolve mechanical, electrical, and control-system challenges using practical diagnostic techniques.
• Conduct independent calibrations for designated customer systems.
• Professionally manage service documentation, assigned resources, and customer communications.
• Collaborate directly with customer engineering and laboratory teams within a service-focused environment.
• Ensure technical training and adherence to MTS quality and safety standards.
• Practical technical experience obtained through internships, co-ops, laboratory work, maintenance roles, automation, robotics, manufacturing, or military service (typically 2–4 years combined).
• An associate degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field, or a 4-year degree in Engineering Technology.
• Proficiency with tools, wiring, mechanical assemblies, and technical systems, with a desire to advance into an independent field service position.
• 5–10+ years of experience supporting electro-mechanical, hydraulic, or industrial equipment (for Experienced Technicians / Field Service Professionals).
• Background in field service, installation, system startup, or maintenance (for Experienced Technicians / Field Service Professionals).
• Ability to manage customer relationships and troubleshoot intricate systems with minimal supervision (for Experienced Technicians / Field Service Professionals).
• Willingness to engage in a field-based role that involves regular travel, particularly during the initial year, with increasing flexibility as independence develops.
• Eagerness to learn and adhere to structured training and mentorship during the onboarding process.
• Excellent communication skills and professional interaction with clients.
• A valid driver’s license and the capability to meet company vehicle requirements.
• Familiarity with hydraulics, instrumentation, sensors, controls, or automation (not required on day one).
• Experience in calibration, diagnostics, or test equipment (not required on day one).
• Practical mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills (not required on day one).
• Knowledge of common electrical and mechanical diagnostic tools and testing equipment (not required on day one).
