This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct thorough site assessments concentrating on network infrastructure, power availability, fiber optic routes, line of sight evaluations for wireless connections, and analysis of current IT and structural frameworks to guarantee optimal system placement and efficiency.
• Set up, configure, and maintain networking equipment, servers, Cisco switches/routers, fiber optic systems, and related power distribution apparatus at both CONUS and OCONUS locations.
• Carry out swift IT tasks such as server setups, network configurations, cable installation/termination, and system integration, followed by a smooth transition to ensuing field requirements.
• Execute system diagnostics, fault identification, and remedial actions for network, server, and power-related challenges to maintain operational readiness.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance as per technical manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and manufacturer guidelines.
• Assist in field testing, data gathering, and system evaluations for performance validation, acceptance testing, and integration with larger mission networks.
• Train military and civilian personnel on network configuration, basic troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT infrastructure (as needed).
• Produce comprehensive technical reports, maintenance logs, and after-action reviews for government leads and program management.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to execute software/firmware updates, configuration alterations, and hardware enhancements.
• Support system integration with base defense networks, tactical sensor networks, and enterprise IT frameworks.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant safety, security, cybersecurity, and operational standards.
• Undertake generalist tasks as necessary, including tower climbing, antenna and cable work, and assistance with related field infrastructure.
• Significant experience working in or near a military setting.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent military training/experience).
• At least 3 years of practical experience with networking, server management, Cisco equipment, and/or fiber optic systems in field or deployed scenarios.
• Demonstrated capability to install, configure, and troubleshoot intricate network and server systems swiftly in austere or small-scale environments.
• In-depth understanding of power systems, networking principles (LAN/WAN), fiber optics, and Linux/Windows server environments.
• Familiarity with Cisco networking devices (switches, routers, firewalls) and associated configuration/management tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Capacity to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team, efficiently executing IT tasks and progressing to subsequent priorities.
• Willingness to travel 25–75% (aiming for less than 50%), including to remote or OCONUS locations as mission requirements dictate.
• Current passport or the capability to obtain one.
• Ability to meet European Contractor Online Processing System (ECOPS) requirements (if applicable).
• Active DoD security clearance at the Secret level or higher.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and comfort with working at heights/climbing towers or elevated structures.
