This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee and implement on-site installations of UVeye’s automated vehicle inspection systems.
• Supervise third-party contractors to ensure project compliance with engineering specifications, schedules, safety protocols, and quality benchmarks.
• Install, set up, calibrate, and validate systems encompassing electrical, mechanical, networking, and civil components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, networking, and integration challenges in the field.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and emergency service tasks to optimize system availability.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations, identify potential hazards, and enforce safe working practices.
• Analyze site layouts, engineering schematics, and technical documentation utilizing AutoCAD or similar tools.
• Detect and report discrepancies between planned and actual site conditions.
• Act as the primary technical liaison during field operations and manage client expectations effectively.
• Keep precise installation and service records.
• Refer complex technical issues to Engineering, R&D, and Operations teams.
• Provide field insights that contribute to ongoing improvements.
• Manage time and expenses in accordance with corporate policies.
• Travel frequently between customer sites, including dealerships, manufacturing facilities, logistics centers, and other operational venues.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Field Engineer, Field Service Engineer, or Field Technician specializing in hardware/software installation and deployment.
• Proven experience in leading contractors or teams during technical installation processes.
• Significant hands-on experience with civil works, networking, electrical wiring, and mechanical assembly.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems and fundamental networking principles.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting site layouts and technical drawings using AutoCAD, Autodesk, or similar tools.
• Capability to produce clear installation, service, and maintenance documentation.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently manage on-site discussions and provide technical guidance.
• A customer-centric mindset with robust problem-solving abilities, resilience, and adaptability to evolving field conditions.
• Strong dedication to safety and the ability to enforce safety protocols on-site.
• Willingness and capacity to travel up to 100% across the United States and Canada (for US FSEs).
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Technical certification or trade school education is highly preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Linux systems is also highly preferred.
• Previous experience in customer-facing environments is preferably desired.
• Capability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, noise, and dust.
