This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Deliver third-level, on-site automotive technical and Techline support to GM retail and wholesale sectors.

• Diagnose and manage repairs on vehicles owned by Florida customers to minimize repurchases and warranty costs.

• Immediately respond to dispatch cases related to vehicle breakdowns or potential repurchase scenarios.

• Foster relationships with GM District Managers in Parts and Service, Regional CAM, BRSM, Business Resource Center, engineering, and wholesale management.

• Evaluate vehicles at risk of repurchase and devise strategies to prevent buybacks.

• Utilize predictive analytics to identify vehicles with a high potential for repurchase and assist dealers promptly.

• Assess and enhance dealership comeback processes.

• Review Preliminary Information bulletins and disseminate authorized field-fix details.

• Conduct on-site training for dealerships on Techline tools, applications, diagnostic equipment, and tools.

• Troubleshoot IT hardware issues within dealership service departments and resolve Techline tool problems.

• Address dealership customer concerns via phone or in-person at dealership locations.

• Provide reports on dealership service-readiness “State of Health” and support technician recruitment and retention efforts.

• Offer feedback through Field Product Reports to Vehicle/Powertrain Brand Quality Managers and GM Engineering.

• Assist in Better Business Bureau arbitration hearings and lemon-law legal cases.

• Suggest warranty-waste reduction strategies to FSE Leadership and the BQM Team.

• Travel frequently, making territory visits at least 50% of the time.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside in the Tampa, Florida area or relocate to within a 50-mile radius of Tampa, Florida.

• 100% geographic mobility within the USA is mandatory for this position and any future field relocations.

• Extensive hands-on experience in an Automotive Dealership Service Department or equivalent vehicle diagnostic and repair roles.

• Knowledge and experience with GM Essential Service tools are required.

• State Automotive Technician Certifications as mandated by state/local regulations; if relocating, certification in the new state must be obtained within one month.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is essential.

• Proficiency in MS Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook (or equivalent email/calendar application).

• Ability to manage, resolve, document, and close dispatch cases within stipulated timeframes.

• Capability to establish and maintain relationships with dealership management teams.

• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and self-train to enhance skills.

• Competence in creating and delivering specialized training.

• Exceptional communication and time-management abilities.

• Self-motivated with a proactive mindset.

• Must not require GM immigration sponsorship presently or in the future.

• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle regularly and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Report review.

• Preferred: Over 10 years of hands-on automotive dealership service or equivalent diagnostic and repair experience.

• Preferred vocational, technical, associate, or bachelor’s degree.

• Proficiency with Data Bus Diagnostic Tools, including TIS/GDS, NeoVi/V-Spy Intrepid Tools, Buffalo Tool, and INCA Tool.

• Proficiency with Pico Scope.

• Over 10 years of experience in customer handling, support, sales, administrative, computer, or other relevant business skills.

• Experience in computer hardware setup, internet, and wireless communications.

• ASE certifications A1-A9 plus Master Technician; T1-T8 plus Master Technician; L1-L4, with necessary re-certification.

• Familiarity with GM Global Connect Service Applications.

• Knowledge of GM Service Training College training website and applications.

• Extensive understanding of GM vehicle control systems, controller area networks, and GM LAN.

• 100% completion of GM Service Training requirements, including GM Master Technician in one or more GM STC training paths.

• GM World Class Technician credentials.

• Knowledge of LAN/WAN IT infrastructure.
