
Field Service Commissioning Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.
• Deliver fuel cell services during dispatched field visits
• Safely operate a service vehicle
• Develop daily workflows for oneself based on a list of scheduled tasks (typically assigned to work independently)
• Oversee on-site preventative maintenance, repairs, testing, and diagnostic tasks
• Adhere to company procedures and protocols
• Identify errors or technical issues and determine/implement appropriate solutions
• Collaborate with a technical team and circulate information throughout the organization
• Understand and comply with customer access requirements
• Manage service vehicle and spare parts inventory
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with customers
• Generate timely and detailed service reports as required
• Additional responsibilities as assigned
• Must reside within the Service District
• High school diploma and 6 years of experience in electrical, process controls, or electro-mechanical fields
• Technical diploma, Journeyman Certification, or Electrician Certification in a technical field with 4 years of relevant industry experience (electrician, electronics technician, field service technician, test engineer, etc.)
• 5 years or more of relevant experience in commercial electrical work, combined with electrical-related military experience (e.g., Navy Nuclear Electronics/Electrical Technician, military certified electrician or technician, Gas Turbine Electrician)
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills required
• Knowledge of safety standards, particularly those related to electrical work (OSHA & NFPA 70E)
• Prior experience as an electrician or electrical technician working with various technologies: three-phase systems, uninterruptible power supplies, electrical generation and distribution systems, power electronics, automatic transfer switches, and microprocessor-based control platforms
• Experience with different electrical/electronic test and measurement equipment
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical single line diagrams and blueprints
• Experienced in performing equipment maintenance in accordance with ANSI/NETA standards for Electrical Power
• Mechanical aptitude, including troubleshooting and repair skills
• Highly motivated and capable of working independently
• Demonstrates sound judgment in resolving complex issues
• A team player who shows a high level of integrity and professionalism
• Communicates effectively in both written and verbal English
• Able to execute written and verbal procedures and sequenced work instructions
• Capable of regularly handling equipment weighing up to 50 lbs., with occasional lifting of up to 70 lbs.
• Able to reach, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday
• Comfortable using a ladder or step stool regularly
• Available for 24X7 on-call duty
• Flexible to work shifts as needed
• Willing to regularly work alternative schedules (e.g., one week/month of Wednesday-Sunday)
• Open to regularly supporting overtime to meet quarterly goals
• Able to regularly travel (drive) throughout a large Service District (e.g., “Southern California District”)
• Willing to occasionally travel to other US and international locations
• Must maintain a good standing driving record
