This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan, +1 more state.
• Oversee and enhance customer accounts throughout North America, acting as the main aftermarket commercial and technical liaison.
• Formulate and implement sales strategies for the territory to stimulate aftermarket growth across parts, preventative maintenance (PM) programs, training, rebuilds, and service solutions.
• Recognize, evaluate, and secure aftermarket opportunities utilizing a consultative, value-driven sales methodology centered on customer uptime and lifecycle performance.
• Advocate for and sell BMG aftermarket products, which include spare and critical parts, PM plans, training initiatives, process optimization services, and equipment rebuilds or enhancements.
• Identify, target, and cultivate new customer accounts within the designated territory, encompassing prospecting competitor-installed bases, generating qualified leads, and transforming opportunities into enduring aftermarket partnerships.
• Execute organized on-site equipment and facility audits, which cover machine inspections, condition assessments, and evaluations of maintenance practices.
• Assess equipment health, wear trends, safety hazards, operational practices, and lifecycle stages.
• Determine the root causes of downtime, quality challenges, reliability concerns, and maintenance deficiencies.
• Record audit outcomes and deliver clear, prioritized recommendations that align with customer operational and business objectives.
• Engage in hands-on service activities during customer visits, including inspections, preventative maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, adjustments, and minor repairs, ensuring compliance with BMG safety and quality standards.
• Assist in the execution of sold PM plans, rebuilds, training, and service solutions through on-site technical involvement when necessary.
• Partner with Service, Engineering, and Inside Sales to outline technical scope, pricing, timelines, and execution strategies.
• Aid in the implementation of sold solutions by coordinating internally and ensuring customer alignment throughout the execution process.
• Identify opportunities for long-term service contracts, recurring revenue models, and lifecycle support programs.
• Establish strong relationships with customer stakeholders, including plant management, maintenance leadership, engineers, and operators.
• Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of customer processes, production needs, and uptime requirements.
• Monitor and report on competitive activities, customer purchasing behavior, pricing expectations, and market trends.
• Maintain precise CRM records and timely reporting, which includes account activity, audit results, opportunities, pipeline, trip reports, and market insights.
• Assist in sales forecasting activities and participate in team meetings.
• Keep updated on thermoforming technology, OEM platforms, and industry best practices, while contributing ideas for continuous improvement and strategic initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree and/or a minimum of five years of relevant experience in aftermarket sales, service, or capital equipment support.
• Experience with capital equipment, plastics machinery, thermoforming, tooling, or industrial automation is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the capability to evaluate mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and control systems.
• Proven experience in conducting equipment audits, assessments, or technical evaluations.
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and BOMs, and identify worn components and risk factors.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and CRM software.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including customer-facing technical reviews.
• Willingness to travel frequently (approximately 75%).
• A prerequisite for this position is the ability to work in the United States on a permanent basis. Visa sponsorship/support is not available for this role.
