This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Expand the designated Illinois territory by enhancing existing business for Buehler equipment and consumables through on-site customer engagements and collaboration with QC customers, leads, Inside Sales, Marketing, and Management.
• Achieve or surpass the assigned sales targets for the territory.
• Increase the consumable business within high-volume quality-control accounts via effective account management and teamwork with the Business Development Specialist.
• Maintain daily in-person interactions with QC customers, aiming for 5 high-quality meetings with decision-makers each week.
• Provide sales management with forecast data.
• Participate in weekly meetings with the Sales Manager to discuss territory concerns, order issues, and sales-related challenges.
• Oversee the sales pipeline and monitor customer contacts and account details using Dynamics 365.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers.
• Assess and understand customer needs and formulate compelling commercial arguments.
• Set up and install Buehler equipment while guiding customers on basic operations and functions.
• Manage and oversee assigned company assets.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred, ideally in an Engineering or Science field; a degree in Material Science is advantageous.
• At least 5 years of experience in outside sales, specifically selling technical equipment in a laboratory or production environment.
• Capability to manage a multistate territory and sell technical products, ideally within laboratory or testing environments, with a sales territory exceeding 4MM.
• Preferred knowledge of metallurgical sample preparation equipment, consumables, and their applications.
• Proficient in various selling techniques and customer service skills.
• Computer literate and proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite.
• A clean driving record is required.
• Ability to lift between 5–25 lbs.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 70% of the time.
• Must reside near or within Chicago, IL.
