This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Drive sales, cultivate key customer relationships, and achieve assigned sales targets.
• Expand the designated Illinois territory by enhancing existing business for Buehler equipment and consumables.
• Conduct on-site visits with current QC customers and potential leads, collaborating with Inside Sales, Marketing, and Management.
• Concentrate on high-volume, quality-critical sectors such as automotive, aerospace, heat treat, and electronics within the quality control industry.
• Meet or surpass assigned sales goals for the territory.
• Enhance consumable business through effective account management and partnership with the Business Development Specialist.
• Maintain daily, face-to-face interactions with QC customers, aiming for five high-quality meetings with decision-makers each week.
• Provide sales management with forecast data.
• Participate in weekly meetings with the Sales Manager, either by phone or in person, to discuss territory and sales challenges.
• Oversee the sales pipeline and record customer interactions and account information in Dynamics 365.
• Identify and establish relationships with key decision-makers.
• Assess customer needs and create compelling commercial arguments.
• Set up, install, and educate customers on the basic operation and features of various Buehler equipment.
• Manage and safeguard assigned company assets, including vehicle, demo equipment, laptop/computer, and cell phone.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred, ideally in an Engineering or Science field; a background in Material Science is advantageous.
• At least 5 years of experience in outside sales, specifically selling technical equipment in laboratory or production environments.
• Capability to manage a multistate territory and sell technical products, preferably within laboratory or testing settings.
• Experience managing a sales territory exceeding $4 million.
• Familiarity with metallurgical sample preparation equipment, consumables, and their applications is preferred.
• Proficient in various sales techniques and customer service skills.
• Competent in using Microsoft Office Suite and general computer literacy.
• A clean driving record is required.
• Ability to lift weights ranging from 5 to 25 lbs.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 70% of the time.
• Must reside near or within Chicago, IL.
