Field Sales Engineer

📋 Description

• You assess a customer's stack for its actual functionality rather than its ideal state.

• You identify where the field data needs to reside to ensure it is reliable and practical, recommending configurations that minimize the customer's effort.

• This may involve a seamless integration into an existing system of record.

• In some cases, the system of record is minimal, and you provide solution recommendations.

• A frictionless experience is the expectation.

• If the design requires significant effort from the customer, it is deemed ineffective.

• This role determines whether Airwave serves as a point tool or as the gateway to a customer's modernized stack.

• Asset data, work history, and field readings that were previously stored on paper or through inefficient uploads are now captured at the source via the glasses.

• You ensure this data is presented in a manner accessible to the rest of their organization.

• Your responsibilities include implementing integrations, uploading documentation, creating reports, and validating data integrity.

• This is a hands-on role, not merely advisory. Success in this position requires designing, opening a laptop, and executing.

• You determine how Airwave integrates into each customer's stack and manage the data flow, taking ownership of your recommendations as the technical authority in front of the customer.

• At the project kickoff, you will organize the customer's document repository and upload it into Airwave, ensuring the product aligns with their equipment, procedures, and standards.

• The success of all downstream processes relies on this initial setup being accurate.

• You will generate the reports that each customer requires.

⛳️ Requirements

• Profound understanding of field service operations and the systems that support them, including FSM, ERP, CMMS, compliance, safety systems, and custom middleware that connects these components. You recognize that real stacks are rarely tidy, and you can pinpoint the right integration point in complex scenarios.

• A builder possessing an architect's insight. You can assess where a product belongs within a convoluted stack, and you are the one responsible for constructing it rather than delegating the task.

• Forward-thinking with AI, as this is crucial for survival. The ability to recognize patterns across diverse stacks enables one individual to manage multiple accounts effectively.

• Strong field instincts and resourcefulness. You prioritize the functionality of workflows for technicians and are willing to perform your own foundational work at a startup rather than waiting for larger-scale processes to develop.

• You successfully deliver real data into production within challenging environments and can validate its functionality within a customer's system, rather than simply assuming it works.
