This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.
• Schedule and perform on-site assessments and generate appropriate reports to help customers evaluate risk.
• Identify business operations, building materials, fire protection systems, and safety protocols.
• Create recommendations related to safety and loss prevention.
• Represent Verisk and its clients professionally through phone, in-person interactions, and written communication.
• Produce precise, customer-focused reports that uphold Verisk’s commitment to data integrity.
• Visit a variety of businesses to evaluate property conditions and operational practices.
• Assess elements pertinent to insurance coverage, loss prevention, and safety measures.
• Assist in underwriting and pricing decisions by providing accurate reports.
• Bachelor’s degree or comparable relevant experience; preferred fields include Risk Management and Insurance, Construction Management, Property and Liability Insurance, and Safety.
• Preferred experience may encompass insurance loss control, underwriting or claims, commercial building construction, compliance or property inspections, as well as fire safety and industrial safety roles.
• Exceptional customer service and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to write clear and informative reports that meet quality standards.
• High proficiency with technology, including laptops, mobile devices, the MS Office suite, and mobile applications.
• Functional math skills related to square footage, perimeter, and percentages.
• Self-driven with effective planning and goal-setting abilities.
• Ability to efficiently route, schedule, document, and conduct site visits with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in observing and recording details and measurements, collecting data, and traveling to various sites.
• Capacity to work in diverse environments and weather conditions, which may involve walking, standing, climbing stairs, driving, and limited ladder use.
• Professional designations such as CFPS, CSP, ARM, ALCM, NFPA, and/or CPCU are advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record in line with company policies.
• Willingness to undertake overnight travel within and out of state as business needs dictate.
• Ability to absorb, learn, and implement training through virtual or in-person classroom sessions, recorded materials, and on-the-job field mentorship.
