This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Provide education to healthcare professionals (HCPs) regarding patient support programs, which include access and reimbursement support tools and services.
• Inform about product-specific acquisition and access options, including specialty pharmacy networks and specialty distribution.
• Offer local expertise on national and regional payor policies to educate providers about payer issues, coding updates, and proper claims submission processes.
• Collaborate with AbbVie’s Access and Reimbursement support center to keep HCPs informed on prescription status and program eligibility.
• Work alongside AbbVie’s Access and Reimbursement Support Center to communicate updates on prescription status and program eligibility.
• Report payer trends related to approved products to Patient Services and MHC account management teams.
• Build and sustain relationships with relevant providers within the designated territory.
• Stay updated on significant managed care, reimbursement, and policy developments.
• A Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a related business field is preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a specific therapeutic area, with expertise in Managed Health Care, Payer Account Management, and/or Access and Reimbursement, along with excellent territory and account management skills.
• Extensive experience in educating others on payer processes, coverage requirements, and other access-related situations for specialty medicines.
• Proven leadership capabilities within the current role.
• Strong comprehension and ability to convey technical aspects of coding and billing requirements at both the National and Regional levels across all care settings.
• In-depth understanding of Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D, along with the associated reimbursement dynamics.
• Strong knowledge of drug acquisition and dispensing within the specific therapeutic area (including Specialty Pharmacies, Specialty Distributors, and white-bagging, etc.).
• Demonstrated knowledge of the rules, regulations, and risks involved in providing reimbursement support services.
• Comprehensive understanding of access and reimbursement support service centers and how to interact effectively and compliantly.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving criteria.
• A key requirement to fulfill all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain access to facilities and organizations within your assigned territory.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all HCIR credentialing requirements and any associated liability for non-compliance.
