This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• This position is field-based, and candidates are expected to reside within a reasonable distance from the primary city.

• The Eye Care Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) serves as an alternative in-office resource available to assist HCPs with patient access inquiries.

• The FRM directly engages with HCP offices within their designated geography to address questions regarding patient access and reimbursement for AbbVie Eye Care products.

• The FRM offers expertise on coverage and common challenges related to access and reimbursement impacting AbbVie Eye Care products.

• Responsibilities of the FRM include educating on the access and reimbursement support tools provided by AbbVie, advising HCPs on patient prescription status and program eligibility, and informing HCP offices about payer processes and procedures.

• Collaborate with AbbVie’s Access and Reimbursement Support Center to communicate updates on prescription status and program eligibility.

• Relay payer trends concerning approved products to Patient Services and MHC account management teams.

• Build and maintain relationships with relevant providers within the territory.

• Stay updated on key managed care, reimbursement, and policy activities.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field is preferred, or relevant and equivalent experience in the industry is required.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the specific therapeutic area, with expertise in Managed Health Care, Payer Account Management, and/or Access and Reimbursement, along with strong territory and account management skills.

• Extensive experience in educating others about payer processes, coverage requirements, and access-related issues for specialty medicines.

• A proven track record of leadership in the current role.

• Strong understanding and ability to articulate the technical aspects of coding and billing requirements at both the National and Regional levels across various care settings.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D, along with associated reimbursement dynamics.

• Strong grasp of drug acquisition and dispensing within the specific therapeutic area (including Specialty Pharmacies, Specialty Distributors, and white-bagging, etc.).

• Demonstrated understanding of the rules, regulations, and risks linked to the provision of reimbursement support services.

• Strong comprehension of access and reimbursement support service centers and how to interact with them in a compliant manner.

• A valid driver’s license is required, along with the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving standards. Driving a personal vehicle, company car, truck, or powered material handling equipment is essential. It is important to meet all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain access to facilities and organizations within your assigned territory. You must also be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain these credentials, which may include background checks, drug screenings, proof of immunization/vaccination for various diseases, fingerprinting, and specific licenses required by individual states or cities.
