This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Investigate, assess, negotiate, and resolve primarily property claims in a fair, timely, and equitable manner.
• Act as a knowledgeable and comforting resource for clients during challenging times.
• Assist clients in navigating the claims process following natural disasters.
• Support clients as they rebuild their businesses and return to their normal lives.
• Complete Federated's designated training program covering the fundamentals of commercial claims.
• Evaluate claims and assess the validity of coverage.
• Conduct necessary investigations and estimate damages.
• Research, assess, and clarify policy coverage for clients and third parties.
• Prepare settlement documentation.
• Determine and authorize settlement payments based on investigations and coverage/liability assessments.
• Estimate the value of damaged items.
• Negotiate settlements with contractors, clients, and third parties.
• Perform field investigations.
• Recommend resolutions for claims that exceed authority limits.
• Engage and collaborate with external experts, including engineers and valuation vendors, to gather relevant information for claim evaluation.
• Currently pursuing, or have obtained, a four-year degree.
• Ability to proficiently and effectively manage tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical capabilities.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Excellent time management abilities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
• Must reside, or plan to relocate, within one hour of a major airport.
• Willingness to travel frequently by car and/or plane, including overnight and extended multi-night trips.
• Flexibility to adjust work schedules and/or work additional hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Capability to ascend and descend a ladder.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull items weighing 60 pounds or more.
• Physical mobility, vision, and hearing necessary to traverse and assess claims damage.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
• Federated will not sponsor employment visa status, such as an H1-B visa.
• Federated does not interview or hire students or recent graduates holding J-1 or F-1 visas or similar temporary work authorization.
