This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Perform virtual and on-site investigations at the residences of policyholders.
• Evaluate property damage, ascertain liability, assess the extent of loss, and negotiate equitable settlements.
• Utilize claims handling software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess damage and generate estimates in a paperless setting.
• Analyze and report potential subrogation opportunities.
• Notify appropriate state and industry agencies about incidents of theft, fraud, or arson.
• Execute responsibilities independently with a direct impact on management outcomes.
• Professionally represent the company during public engagements.
• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other relevant parties.
• Negotiate settlements with policyholders to resolve claims.
• Advocate for safety and adhere to safety and ergonomic standards.
• Travel away from home for catastrophe deployments, typically lasting 23 days.
• A High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Exceptional customer service experience, ideally in a retail setting.
• Experience in construction or insurance is highly desirable and preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in computer usage: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with smartphones and applications.
• A willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage.
• A valid driver's license and bondable status are required.
• Final candidates will undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check.
• Must reside within the Lafayette, Crawfordsville, or Frankfort, Indiana hiring areas.
• Must be willing and capable of climbing ladders and working on rooftops multiple times a day.
• Ability to work in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
• Must achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training exams.
• Willingness to commit to 1–3 CAT deployments annually.
• Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and entering data in English.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Able to perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, pulling, pushing, sorting, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, and seeing.
