Field Imaging Specialist – Acoustic Window Screening

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead acoustic window screens for candidate patients at hospital and clinic locations using linear and cardiac probes, adhering to the approved AWS protocol and IFU.

• Supervise the acquisition of acoustic window measurements and essential patient information for WiSE System implants.

• Record measurements and patient details accurately.

• Identify and document viable and optimal windows; determine non-qualifying patients and communicate the reasoning behind these decisions.

• Recognize and document any cardiac abnormalities or anatomical findings that may impact implantation or system functionality, escalating issues as necessary.

• Prepare timely and precise AWS reports for physicians, Field Clinical Specialists, Territory Managers, and internal stakeholders.

• Interpret screening results to provide pre-case guidance on target implant site selection and anticipated approach.

• Engage in pre-case planning and, when needed, re-scan or confirm window selection on the days of procedures.

• Offer imaging support, including guidance on patient positioning and marking of implant sites.

• Collaborate with account and field teams to manage screening logistics, patient scheduling, and site readiness.

• Take part in post-case reviews and integrate insights into protocol enhancements and training.

• Educate hospital sonographers, echo lab personnel, physicians, and other healthcare providers on AWS protocol, image acquisition, and measurement techniques.

• Train and evaluate internal field team members on screening workflows and imaging basics.

• Conduct quality-control reviews and rectify any measurement or protocol discrepancies.

• Evaluate site and personnel readiness for independent screening and suggest support, retraining, or independence status as appropriate.

• Maintain compliant training and screening documentation.

• Provide structured field feedback to Training & Education, Clinical Affairs, Marketing, Engineering, and R&D teams.

• Assist in the introduction of new imaging modalities.

• Identify trends in screen pass/fail rates, anatomical patterns, and workflow challenges.

• Stay updated on clinical, technical, and product knowledge regarding the WiSE System and implant procedures.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, patient privacy obligations, hospital credentialing requirements, and company policies.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Credentialed echocardiography sonographer (RDCS, RCS, or equivalent) with active status and good standing; required.

• At least 3 years of full-time adult cardiac sonography experience in a hospital environment, with independent scanning responsibility.

• Bachelor's degree preferred; a combination of sonography credentials and relevant clinical experience will be considered.

• Proven proficiency in transthoracic imaging, thoracic and cardiac anatomy, intercostal window assessment, and accurate measurement techniques.

• TEE and ICE imaging experience in a hospital-based OR, Cath Lab, or EP Lab setting preferred.

• Experience in training, precepting, or quality-checking other sonographers is preferred.

• Medical device industry experience in a field-based, clinical applications, or clinical education role is preferred.

• Familiarity with cardiac rhythm management, electrophysiology, heart failure, or CRT patient populations is preferred.

• Cardiac CT interpretation or measurement experience is a plus.

• Experience in scanning pediatric or adult congenital heart disease is a plus.

• Ability to independently scan and make accurate, defensible eligibility and target site determinations without on-site supervision.

• Strong presence with patients; capable of positioning, coaching, and reassuring heart failure patients during extended scanning in various postures.

• Established credibility with physicians and echo lab leadership; skilled in teaching and providing direct technical feedback to sonographers of all skill levels.

• Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly evolving environment where priorities may change quickly.

• Proven ability to maintain composure and achieve results in time-sensitive or high-pressure clinical situations.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including clear clinical reporting.

• Tech-savvy, proficient in common imaging software, DICOM viewers, CRM systems, LMS platforms, and digital tools (Microsoft Office, cloud collaboration platforms).

• Ability to meet hospital credentialing, immunization, and vendor access requirements.

• Valid driver's license and compliance with applicable driving and state regulations.

• Willingness to travel approximately 80% of the time, including overnight stays, occasional weekends, and potential international travel.

• Ability to travel on short notice to support case scheduling.

• Capability to transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment.

• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

• Ability to work in hospital, cath lab, and clinic environments.
