Field Imaging Specialist – Acoustic Window Screening

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the acquisition of acoustic window screens on candidate patients at hospital and clinic locations utilizing linear and cardiac probes.

• Direct and supervise the collection of acoustic window measurements and necessary patient data for WiSE System implants.

• Accurately document measurements and patient information in accordance with the established AWS protocol and IFU.

• Identify and record viable and optimal windows, as well as determine patients who do not meet qualification criteria.

• Recognize and document any cardiac irregularities or anatomical issues that may impact implantation or system functionality.

• Prepare timely and precise AWS reports for implanting physicians, Field Clinical Specialists, Territory Managers, and other internal stakeholders.

• Convert screening results into pre-case guidance regarding target implant site selection and anticipated approaches.

• Engage in pre-case planning and re-evaluate or confirm window selection on procedure days as necessary.

• Offer imaging support, guidance on patient positioning, and marking of implant sites.

• Collaborate with account and field teams regarding screening logistics, scheduling, and site preparedness.

• Take part in post-case evaluations and contribute insights to protocol and training improvements.

• Educate hospital sonographers, echo lab staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals on AWS protocol and techniques.

• Train and evaluate internal field team members on screening workflows and imaging basics.

• Conduct quality control reviews and rectify measurement or protocol discrepancies.

• Evaluate site and personnel readiness for independent screening practices.

• Maintain compliant training and screening records.

• Provide feedback from the field to Training & Education, Clinical Affairs, Marketing, Engineering, and R&D teams.

• Support the introduction of new or additional imaging modalities as the screening program advances.

• Recognize trends in screening pass/fail rates, anatomical patterns, and workflow challenges.

• Keep updated on clinical, technical, and product knowledge related to the WiSE System and implant procedures.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, patient privacy obligations, hospital credentialing requirements, and company policies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Credentialed echocardiography sonographer (RDCS, RCS, or equivalent) with active status and good standing; required.

• A minimum of 3 years of full-time adult cardiac sonography experience in a hospital environment, with independent scanning responsibilities.

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Proven expertise in transthoracic imaging, thoracic and cardiac anatomy, intercostal window assessment, and precise measurement techniques.

• TEE and ICE imaging experience in a hospital-based OR, Cath Lab, or EP Lab setting preferred.

• Experience in training, precepting, or quality-checking other sonographers preferred.

• Medical device industry experience in a field-based, clinical applications, or clinical education role preferred.

• Familiarity with cardiac rhythm management, electrophysiology, heart failure, or CRT patient populations preferred.

• Experience with cardiac CT interpretation or measurement is a plus.

• Experience in scanning pediatric or adult congenital heart disease is a plus.

• Capability to perform independent scans and make accurate, defensible eligibility and target site determinations without on-site supervision.

• Strong patient-facing presence; capable of positioning, coaching, and reassuring heart failure patients during extended scanning in various postures.

• Credibility with physicians and echo lab leadership; able to teach and provide direct technical feedback to sonographers.

• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous, high-growth environment.

• Proven ability to maintain composure and achieve results in time-sensitive or high-pressure clinical situations.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including clear clinical reporting.

• Proficiency in common imaging software, DICOM viewers, CRM systems, LMS platforms, Microsoft Office, cloud collaboration tools, and digital resources.

• Ability to fulfill hospital credentialing, immunization, and vendor access requirements.

• Valid driver's license and compliance with applicable driving and state regulations.

• Willingness to travel approximately 80% of the time, including overnight, occasional weekend, and potential international travel.

• Capability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, use hands, reach, and maintain a sustained scanning posture.

• Ability to transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment.

• Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, lift up to 20 pounds, and assist with patient positioning.

• Required vision capabilities include close, distance, depth perception, color vision, and focus adjustment.
