
Field Engineer – Steam Turbine

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct on-site installation of systems and equipment, along with ongoing preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibrations post-installation.
• Lead outage teams which include various crafts, union technicians, and onsite service personnel.
• Address requests for emergency repairs and services related to malfunctioning equipment.
• Offer technical guidance and support to customer representatives concerning installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer locations.
• Execute administrative tasks such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, obtaining quotes, preparing job status reports, creating reports for customers, and completing time and expense sheets accurately and promptly.
• Approve all implemented changes.
• Enhance customer satisfaction by prioritizing quality.
• Uphold a strong safety mindset to ensure that executed work complies with GE Vernova safety standards.
• Possess the knowledge to troubleshoot and conduct routine maintenance checks on a diverse range of equipment vintages.
• Prepare prompt and precise technical reports for customer documentation and as a reference for future outages.
• Ensure all necessary parts for the job are delivered to the site.
• Conduct walk-downs during installation to verify proper performance of the customer's contractors.
• Implement aftermarket upgrades that need to be conducted at the site level.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, along with 3+ years of relevant experience in Power Plant Maintenance, Turbine Maintenance, or Power Plant Equipment Installation or Commissioning; alternatively, a High School Diploma with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Willingness to travel 80% annually for projects and various field assignments as necessary.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.
• Successful completion of required training programs is a prerequisite.
• Proven knowledge and experience to actively support an outage and know where to find answers to questions as they arise.
• Ability and dedication to providing excellent customer service to both external and internal stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience with successful installations and outages.
• Preferred experience and training on GE, Alstom, Siemens, or other OEM equipment.
• Extensive Field Engineering Services experience is essential.
• Experience with pipe fitting and tubing.
• Proficient in the English language.
• Strong project management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Solid business acumen and capability to promote GE Vernova products to customers.
• Willingness to travel to support customers both inside and outside the U.S.A.
