This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Carry out the commissioning and testing of protection and control systems for electric utility substations and plant locations for our clients.
• Test Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), SCADA systems, communication media, relays, meters, RTUs, DFRs, and multifunction media converters or intelligent logic devices.
• Review and red-line design documents across the entire drawing set, which includes Single Line, AC/DC Elementary, Wiring, Panel Arrangement, and Bill of Material/Material List.
• Conduct end-to-end testing procedures.
• Perform IED testing both manually and using automated test equipment such as Doble 6150, Omicron, and Manta.
• Recognize common risks associated with testing and commissioning protection and control systems.
• Create test plans, risk assessments, and practical applications for basic protection and control systems and schemes.
• Analyze project scope and drawing interpretations to develop detailed functional guidelines and risk assessments.
• Lead team members and tasks within larger projects or provide technical and personnel leadership on projects with clearly defined scopes of work.
• Conduct weekly site safety inspections.
• Facilitate the application of HP with Project Lead consent.
• Adhere to company and client policies and procedures.
• Travel to client locations for three-week assignments, returning home for long weekends.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, or an Associate/AET degree.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in relay testing and commissioning within substations.
• Experience using basic volt-ohm-meters and handling hand tools.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting One Line, AC & DC Elementary, and Wiring diagrams.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in computer networking and Android/iPhone applications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software suite.
• Ability to map drive letters for server connections.
• Capable of obtaining, installing, and connecting handheld device applications to 'The Cloud' or other required locations.
• Willingness to perform regular fieldwork in diverse work environments and weather conditions.
• Ability to comprehend company manuals and reports, as well as workplace rules and procedures.
• Strong verbal communication skills, demonstrating poise and confidence while using proper English.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Proficient in effective communication in English, encompassing reading and writing skills.
