This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Provide Sales Engineering assistance for new opportunities throughout the entire Sales life cycle.
• Deliver remote technical support to our partners and customers, including out-of-hours assistance. This encompasses installation support, reactive service, and preventative service.
• Always uphold strong customer relations, maintaining a high standard of appearance and a customer-focused communication approach.
• Keep an open mind to daily challenges, exploring all options to achieve the highest possible first-time-fix rate, thereby minimizing repeat calls.
• Backup and support the service team and fellow engineers to ensure the most efficient delivery of service provision.
• Adhere to customer procedures to facilitate efficient job closures.
• Maintain regular and professional communication with the call desk and management team.
• Ensure all job-related documentation and necessary administration (e.g., Permits to work, timesheets, expense claims) is completed promptly, including timely updates to the service ERP management systems.
• Stay updated on relevant technology, equipment, or practices required to support the business and its customers.
• Travel to various sites across the US.
• Adopt a continual improvement mindset towards your own working practices, consistently seeking opportunities for professional development and making suggestions to management when appropriate.
• Ensure adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures and practices, making sure everyone is aware of their responsibilities in these areas.
• As time allows, map our installed base in the field by conducting site walks and taking photographs to support upselling efforts.
• Exhibit a high degree of flexibility; the post-holder is expected to take on additional duties for the Company within their capabilities, which may include covering other regions.
• Experience in working independently as a service/installation technician.
• Proven experience with turnstiles and electrical installations.
• Ability to collaborate with contractors and end-users to provide product and installation support.
• Knowledge of low and high voltage circuitry.
• Familiarity with electronic security systems and access control systems.
• Practical experience with the internet and networking.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams.
• Strong mechanical knowledge.
• Willingness to be trained on various new products.
• Effective time management skills with the capability to manage changing priorities and perform well under pressure.
• Ability to independently problem-solve and resolve presenting situations using personal initiative, while consulting with experienced colleagues, team leaders, and suppliers as necessary.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Outstanding communication skills, able to listen to and empathize with customers, presenting a positive company image.
• Ability to ensure customer calls are resolved swiftly and efficiently, prioritizing effectively, meeting deadlines and targets, and using initiative to complete tasks.
• Exceptional documentation and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
• Must be willing to travel to clients for installations.
