This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS systems, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, STS units, inverters, and associated critical power equipment.
• Identify electrical and control system issues using schematics, testing tools, manufacturer documentation, and industry best practices.
• Install, commission, and replace UPS systems, battery strings, battery monitoring systems, maintenance bypass equipment, and related power infrastructure.
• Respond to emergency service calls and restore customer systems to operational condition while upholding the highest safety and quality standards.
• Execute battery testing, capacity assessments, failure analysis, and lifecycle replacement services.
• Accurately and professionally complete service reports, maintenance documentation, and customer communications.
• Build strong customer relationships through technical expertise, promptness, and outstanding service delivery.
• Mentor junior technicians and assist in field training by sharing troubleshooting methods, safety protocols, and technical insights.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, company safety procedures, and customer site requirements.
• Support additional field service tasks as business and customer needs change.
• Military veterans with expertise in electronics, avionics, communications, radar, power generation, electrical maintenance, nuclear power, or similar technical fields are strongly encouraged to apply.
• A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in servicing UPS systems, battery systems, DC power equipment, generators, switchgear, data center infrastructure, or other critical electrical infrastructure.
• Experience with equipment from manufacturers such as Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric/APC, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, ABB, or similar critical power platforms is highly preferred.
• A solid understanding of AC and DC electrical theory, power distribution systems, and battery technologies.
• Capability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in using multimeters, power quality analyzers, battery testing equipment, and various diagnostic tools.
• Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve intricate electrical and electronic system failures.
• Strong communication skills with customers, capable of explaining technical findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven dedication to safety, quality workmanship, and professional responsibility.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned service area, including occasional overnight travel as necessary.
