Field Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Deliver both on-site and remote professional services to Genetec clients and partners.

• Carry out the installation, auditing, assessment, maintenance, and support of Genetec systems at customer locations.

• Serve as the main technical point of contact, both on-site and remotely, for significant projects.

• Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with both new and existing clients.

• Build and retain a comprehensive working knowledge of Genetec's solutions.

• Accurately document all activities and any irregularities encountered within the Genetec systems.

• Ensure timely escalation of critical issues related to customers through the appropriate channels.

• Provide functional requirements based on customer feedback to support product enhancements.

• Create an open forum for inquiries regarding strategic initiatives, best practices, and guidance.

• Document all on-site or remote service interventions.

• Must hold a valid driver's license and passport.

• Experience in deploying and troubleshooting security systems such as Video Surveillance Systems (VMS, IP cameras, encoders, analytics, etc.) and Access Control Systems (software configuration, readers, controllers, wiring, etc.).

• Excellent administration and troubleshooting expertise in various Windows operating systems (Active Directory, SQL, file sharing, IIS, clustering, GPO, performance monitoring, etc.).

• Strong understanding of networking principles and IP protocols.

• Experience with configuring and troubleshooting networking equipment (switches, routers, etc.).

• Familiarity with network storage principles and best practices (SAN, NAS, iSCSI).

• Skills in database querying and management.

• Understanding of server virtualization concepts.

• Experience with encryption and certificates.

• Familiarity with PowerShell is a plus.
