Field Applications Engineer – Fire Lite, Silent Knight, Farenhyt

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Act as the main technical resource for regional sales managers in East/West Honeywell Fire SMB, as well as for direct and indirect customers, architects and engineers (A&E), electrical contractors (EC), and other influential stakeholders.

• Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders by providing education and consultancy to enhance the consideration, specification, and adoption of Honeywell technologies and solutions.

• Offer applications support, system recommendations, basic design guidance, and troubleshooting for Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, and Farenhyt fire alarm systems and related products.

• Aid in the development of complex solutions, including product selection, configuration advice, integration considerations, and application-specific troubleshooting.

• Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and training sessions for sales teams, distributors, and end users.

• Review and provide recommendations on system designs, bills of materials, and proposed solutions to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with relevant codes and standards.

• Collaborate with internal product, engineering, and support teams to escalate complex issues and collect field feedback for product enhancement.

• Assist sales opportunities through customer meetings, site assessments, and proposal development.

• Keep updated on Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, and Farenhyt portfolios, competitive offerings, and applicable codes and standards.

• Travel approximately 50% of the time to support regional sales managers, customers, and distribution partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• NICET Level II Fire Alarm Systems certification is mandatory.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Fire Alarm System design, application, and layout.

• At least 3 years of experience in sales engineering, application engineering, or related technical roles.

• A minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with Fire-Lite and Silent Knight fire alarm products.

• Experience in delivering technical presentations, customer training, and providing solution recommendations to contractors, engineers, distributors, and end users.

• Demonstrated ability to cultivate and sustain relationships with over 25 key stakeholders, customers, or channel partners.

• Proven experience in successfully resolving complex fire alarm application, design, or troubleshooting challenges.

• Proficient in reviewing and interpreting engineering specifications for fire alarm system projects.

• Over 3 years of experience in fire alarm system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root-cause analysis.

• Experience in preparing technical proposals, submittals, compliance documentation, and technical communications for customers.

• Familiarity with Honeywell, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, and competitive fire alarm technologies and platforms.

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics is preferred.

• Experience in selling complex application and system solutions is a plus.

• A proven history of success in sales engineering roles is advantageous.

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, establishing cooperative relationships and influencing cross-functional teams.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a highly matrixed environment.

• Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or possess protected status under asylum or refugee provisions due to U.S. export control laws.
