This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Create a targeted list of strategic AEC firms and design-build contractors alongside sales leadership.
• Facilitate early engagement to position PowerSecure solutions as foundational designs in sectors such as data centers, healthcare, retail, e-logistics, and federal government.
• Establish or modify the basis of design to specify PowerSecure products, solutions, and services.
• Build relationships with design engineers, specifiers, principals, and key technical decision-makers.
• Position products, solutions, and services as preferred or exclusive options where feasible.
• Provide technical advice during concept, schematic, and detailed design stages.
• Support AEC firms with system selection and sizing, performance modeling, trade-off analysis, code compliance, standards interpretation, and value engineering.
• Evaluate drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure alignment with company offerings.
• Integrate PowerSecure offerings into master specifications and AEC basis-of-design standards.
• Monitor AEC firm-level standards and manage long-term conversion strategies.
• Collaborate with sales, product management, and applications engineering teams.
• Develop technical justifications for sole-source or preferred specifications and assist with pre-bid and pre-award technical clarifications.
• Provide market insights to inform product roadmap and messaging.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering is required.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience engaging with AEC firms or a similar background.
• Direct experience in producing or reviewing engineering designs.
• Knowledge of how Basis of Design documents, drawings, and specifications are developed.
• Understanding of schematic designs, EOR responsibilities, and risk evaluation and mitigation in design choices.
• Experience in a consulting engineering firm, EPC/design-build team, or OEM for distributed energy resource products/services.
• Ability to discuss system architecture, alternatives, performance trade-offs, failure modes, operational risks, codes, standards, and compliance pathways.
• Experience in supporting sales with technical justifications for sole-source, substitution-risk prevention, and pre-bid clarifications.
• Extensive knowledge of distributed energy resource solutions and their benefits to utilities and C&I customers.
• Capability to convey PowerSecure’s solution value proposition into clear customer benefits.
• Willingness to travel frequently.
• Flexibility to work varied hours across Central, Eastern, Mountain, and Pacific time zones.
• Availability for after-hours tasks as necessary.
• PE license is preferred.
• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, customer focus, independence, adaptability, and relationship-building skills are essential.
