Field Application Engineer – Defense & Aerospace

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, troubleshoot, and implement testing solutions for Digital, Mixed-Signal, and RF electronics.

• Develop test program software, often within a team-oriented environment.

• Collaborate on the design and layout review of Test Adapter schematics for test solutions.

• Analyze issues and propose solutions on the Teradyne ATE platform to enhance customer throughput.

• Engage with test engineering clients to comprehend and refine testing processes while suggesting improvements to test coverage quality.

• Identify customer requirements focusing on: a) Conceptual design of hardware, software, and test cell integration. b) Electrical and mechanical hardware schematics. c) Inputs and requirements for PCB & hardware interface design.

• Showcase tester capabilities for customer assessments.

• Support clients with tester operation and performance.

• Provide training, facilitate technical exchanges, and contribute to technical documentation.

• Cultivate strong technical relationships with customers to gain deeper insights into their needs and objectives.

• A general understanding of ATE industry trends, along with competitive products and their positioning, is an advantage.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in electronic/computer engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in test engineering or a similar role.

• Preferred experience in test/product engineering related to analog, digital, mixed signal, and RF testing and development.

• Prior programming experience on Teradyne or ATE platforms is preferred.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio, programming in C, C++, C#, and Windows environment.

• Strong teamwork abilities while also being capable of independent work.

• Excellent analytical and practical problem-solving skills.

• Strong presentation capabilities.

• Proven interpersonal skills with a commitment to collaboration and a proactive attitude.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and the native language.

• A demonstrated technical background.

• Proven ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.

• Willingness to travel (>50%).

• Eligibility to obtain a US Secret Clearance.
