This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Evaluate assigned cases to ascertain jurisdiction, scope, and the appropriate course of action.
• Conduct thorough document reviews and comprehensive fact-finding from both internal and external sources.
• Analyze cases in accordance with relevant federal statutes, regulations, internal policies, and guidance from the Federal Student Aid program, including Title IV considerations.
• Create structured written analyses utilizing the Issue–Rule–Analysis–Conclusion methodology or a similar framework.
• Draft professional correspondence and resolution summaries for both internal and governmental review.
• Log actions, findings, and outcomes into CRM or case management systems.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, documentation integrity, compliance with quality assurance, and adherence to productivity standards.
• Oversee assigned caseload to achieve productivity targets, throughput requirements, and service-level agreements.
• Engage in quality reviews, calibration sessions, training, and initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Adhere to Ombudsman-specific case handling procedures and Federal Student Aid case management protocols.
• Record actual hours worked daily and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
• Provide Monthly Status Reports as required.
• Check RavenTek email at least three times a week and respond accordingly.
• Complete all assigned compliance training.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Legal Studies, Finance, or a related field, or a minimum of 4 years of progressive professional experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 4 years of progressive professional experience in regulatory case management, quality assurance, compliance review, or a closely related analytical field in lieu of a degree.
• Significant experience in reviewing, interpreting, and synthesizing complex documentation and case records.
• Practical experience working within a CRM or case management system; Salesforce is preferred.
• Advanced analytical and critical-thinking skills for complex regulatory scenarios.
• Proficiency in structured professional writing and formal case determinations.
• Capability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and meeting productivity expectations.
• Exceptional attention to detail and disciplined documentation practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Self-motivated work style suitable for an independent remote setting.
• Familiarity with Federal Student Aid programs, Title IV regulations, or Ombudsman case resolution processes.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining Public Trust level clearance.
• Ability to sit at a workstation and work on a desktop or laptop for extended periods.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift and/or move moderate weights, typically up to 20 pounds.
