Features Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop and produce unique, authoritative features within the Android ecosystem.

• Craft in-depth analyses, hands-on experiments, timely commentary, reported features, how-to guides, and evaluations.

• Ensure a minimum number of published articles each month.

• Submit compelling pitches on a weekly basis.

• Propose and file articles on the same day or the following day concerning breaking news, OS releases, or trending topics.

• Create 100% editorial content, excluding commerce, affiliate, or sponsored materials.

• Drive content for Android Police’s website, social media channels, and newsletters.

• Report on Android smartphones, tablets, applications, smart home technology, Amazon Fire devices, E Ink products, Android operating system updates, and productivity applications.

• Work collaboratively with professional copy editors and adhere to the publication’s fact-checking and quality assurance processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience writing features for reputable tech or consumer publications.

• Previous bylines are mandatory.

• In-depth knowledge of at least one relevant subject area; additional expertise is advantageous.

• Access to current Android devices (Android 14+) and any smart home or E Ink equipment discussed.

• Preference for candidates based in the US or Canada; outstanding writers from other locations will be considered if they can consistently operate within the Eastern time zone.

• A strong enthusiasm for the subject matter and a commitment to producing fresh, original insights.

• Three relevant previously written articles, including at least one hands-on review.

• A brief note outlining your primary subject area and hardware setup.

• An innovative pitch idea specifically tailored for Android Police.

• Links to your social media profiles or portfolio.

• Established media contacts, relevant bylines, a strong presence on social media, and familiarity with the voice and audience of Android Police are significant advantages.
